The CL-10 G Series of level detectors (photo) are designed for powder processes that have the tendency to bridge and “pack-out.” G Series detectors handle precipitated and fine lightweight chemical powders with a bulk density as low as 1 lb/ft 3. They also manage a variety of heavier bulk solids in the density range of 10–15 lb/ft3. The level detectors are suitable for use in dusty environments, and specialized units can be used in temperatures exceeding 300°F. All level detectors are calibrated at the factory, do not require any field calibration before installation and are approved for Class I, Group D; Class II, Groups E, F & G; and Class III services. These durable level detectors contain no moving parts, gaskets or seals, and rely on mechanical oscillations to determine if the probe is covered or uncovered. Signals from the detector operate a single-pole double-throw relay within the control unit, and the relay contacts can be used to actuate alarms, indicator lights or process control equipment.
