The RV Series of rotary variable differential transformer (RVDT) position sensors (photo) offer highly accurate angular displacement measurement of rotating elements, such as quarter-turn ball and butterfly valves, actuators, throttlers and tensioners. With a shaft that rotates a full 360 deg with no stops and virtually no friction, these rotary position sensors measure shaft-angle position over a nominal range of±30 deg. The sensors’ non-contacting design enables a long operational life by eliminating components that wear or degrade over time. The devices are shock and vibration tolerant, even when operating in hostile conditions.
