This company’s new, patent-pending pneumatic trip system (photo) with partial-stroke actuation provides quick testing of turbine trip systems while the equipment is still running. There is no disruption to production, and the trip valve will still work if an overspeed event occurs while testing is in progress. The pneumatic trip system verifies functionality without tripping the turbine and operates independently of the overspeed trip system. It can be initiated locally and remotely via a distributed control system (DCS). Adaptable to any equipment configuration, this system can be retrofitted onto existing equipment or affixed to new machines.
